About Yanta Plastic
Founded in 1968, Yanta Plastic Industry Sdn Bhd has grown into Malaysia’s No.1 leader in heatseal packaging solutions. From pioneering single-use plastics to advanced laminated multilayer films, we have over five decades of expertise serving diverse industries.
We were the first in Malaysia to introduce heatseal bags with body sealing for stationery, setting benchmarks in durability and design. Today, our product range includes spout pouches, stand pouches, flat bottom bags, roll forms, and customized solutions, trusted by global and local brands alike.
Driven by innovation and sustainability, we invest in energy-efficient machinery and renewable resources to reduce CO₂ emissions while delivering packaging that protects, preserves, and elevates products.

1960s – Humble Beginnings
Mr. Chuah Kay Buan, a visionary entrepreneur from Fujian, China, arrived in Malaysia. Starting as a lorry driver, he dreamed of building something greater.
First Machine, First Step
Yanta Plastic took shape with the purchase of its first extrusion machine from Hong Kong—marking the start of polypropylene (PP) bag production.
The 2,000 sq ft Factory Era
Production began in a modest 2,000 square-foot facility, offering in-house extrusion, printing, and bag-making for standard-sized packaging.
Customization for Growing Needs
To meet evolving industry demands, Yanta introduced customized sizing—serving sectors like personal care and garment packaging.
Malaysia’s Largest Supplier
Yanta Plastic became Malaysia’s largest supplier of book wrappers and stationery polybags—a trusted name in educational and office packaging.
Lamination Innovation Begins
We expanded into lamination technology, starting with laminated rice bags—offering longer shelf life and new packaging solutions.
Expansion to New Markets
Our laminated packaging unlocked new markets like frozen food and coffee—fueling exponential growth in the following decade.
